In partnership with the Upstate Experience we will engage Upstate communities with impromptu trash cleanups of street corners, bike trails, parks, and wilderness trails. In 2019 Turtle Straws will act as Environmental Waste Impact Manager for upcoming community events hosted by The upstate Experience. Through social channels we will create shareable zero waste content. You will be able to find how-tos, tutorials, and guidance on The Upstate Experience's Youtube channel and Podcast, in addition to Turtle Straws Instagram (@TurtleStraws) and 'WIP' website.

Waste sucks y'all, consider the objects you throw away in and out of your daily routine. Is a lot of it plastic? There are probably a few simple changes you can make today to reduce your environmental foot print. And what's the harm in doing so? By being even the slightest bit more conscious of our impact on our surroundings we can help protect our Earth for future generations. I believe it was Teddy Roosevelt who once said,

"The Nation behaves well if it treats the natural resources as assets which it must turn over to the next generation increased and not impaired in value.

Here's a list of small changes you can make today to reduce your environmental impact:

1.) Carry a reusable bottle around with you. You'll find yourself drinking more water than you usually would, which is good! Not to mention you'll be saving the ocean from thousands of plastic water bottles.

2.) Use a thermos or coffee mug on the go, at work, or picking up a local brew. Most, if not all, coffee shops will fill a travel mug or thermos with their delicious coffee. You can buy travel cups for cold brew coffees as well if that's your thing!

3.) Buy, AND USE, a set of reusable grocery bags. You can keep them in the trunk of your car for easy access. Don't forget to put them back in your vehicle after you unload!

3a.) You can also buy reusable fruit bags to carry your fruit home from the grocery store. This will eliminate your need to grab the single-use plastic bags for each fruit and/or vegetable you purchase. P/U some avocados for us! We love a good Guac!
